time goes on…
and on and on and on. We are powerless to cease the seemingly rush and flow of time. Time to us seems to be the cause and effect of a series of events and with our limited perspectives, it looks like a seemingly endless lapse of events occurring one after another in a locked pattern of uncertainty.
Uncertainty leads us to doubt about our own power to control any outcome that seems to be within our influence. If we have complete control over future events, then how can we have any established order. Everything would be a chaotic maelstrom of individual causes and effects that would blot out any significant will to cause an action.
Even if all people had the power to cause a series of events to happen, people are limited to only a cause and effect chain that is linear and 2-Dimensional in nature. Thus, there would only be one chain of events that occur that would signify a single path that the universe operated upon. Thus, wouldn’t this path seem to allude to some sort of illusion with our individual control over the future cause and effect relations? While we come to believe we have power over the future, we seem to come to an impasse that our wills are determined by some ultimate cause in the past that set the causal chain into effect.
Should we then worry about the future? If we seem to have control in some limited sense, does it matter then if we cannot have influence over the future? Should we just sit and wait for the future to pass the present and move into the past? What will we do?
